Cocos Island Cocos Island, Guam, 96931, 646-2825-
... island maybe a mile southwest of Guam thats almost uninhabited. The currents underwater were pretty strong but it made the dives so much cooler! The first dive was along the reef ridge on the east side and the second was on the west. For both dives you barely had to swim because the current was so strong so you could litterally just kick it and float on down the reef. Because not a lot of divers make it out here and fisherman are rare there was a ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... red tube that alerts the boat of your position. Both dives had AMAZING visibility and were really enjoyable.
The first one at "Blue and White" was new ground but I just saw a lot of the same colorful fish you see everywhere in Guam so nothing too crazy or exciting there. It was just nice and relaxing and there were lots of fish to see. Our second dive at Vecky's Reef was a little more interesting.. We found a lionfish hiding under a rock, saw several crabs that ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... after 3 hours of Guam's sun shining down on us.
We swam around for about an hour, just relaxing and enjoying pure nature at it's best. We even hiked down the river a bit to find a 2nd waterfall that was a beauty in it's own. The masquito infested river to it was worth the extra hike! Before we left to head back to the car I had to conquer this waterfall. Even though I about wet my pants several times thinking about it, I ...
Yigo, Guam guamblog... being "icked up" and you could see 100 feet+! Notice how clear some of the pictures are.. Well ill post up here in probably about a week or two.. Weve got some big storms brewing out here so i have a feeling well be hunkering down. We have already evacc-ed all the aircraft possible for a cyclone thats heading for us tomorrow morning... Update... all the storms passed and the worst we got was 30-50 mph winds and heavy showers!
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... is the spot on Guam where Ferdinand Magellan landed in the 1500s and later settle in the spanish. I got some pictures I thought that were pretty humorous around the bay..
So not much to tell about the early morning haha we picked up at least a trash bag each along with several other guys in our squadron and patrolled a strip about 3 miles long. The locals were very appreciative and were giving out drinks (water) and tshirts for those who ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... and was used to transport war materials and personnel throughout the Pacific. On January 24, 1943 the Tokai was observed anchored in Apra Harbor by the US submarine FLYING FISH. Assuming that the ship was soon to leave the harbor, the FLYING FISH waited outside the entrance for 3 days. With no movement of the ship or any other vessels, the FLYING FISH fired two torpedoes set to run at 1' depth. One of the torpedoes ran aground on the ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... shorts .. (I know I know.. Hold the cat calls) and a light Tshirt. Mistake 1! Almost the entire trail was a very undefined trailhead through huge SAWGRASS meadows. At one point we almost had to low crawl b/c the sawgrass was cutting up our legs so badly. Its like a million tiny little sharp postit notes giving you quick papercuts. Joe happened to have some pants and a long sleeve jacket which will be my next investment along with a machete... and ...
Oceanview, Guam guamblog... like objects if they feel threatened. I knew nothing of this before as I splashed around buzzed in the water. I saw a gecko too and he unfortunately sacrificed his tail. I also heard a threatening noise that sounded like "two baboons fighting over a carrot" even though their typical diet is bananas Mike. I'm sure it was just a dishwasher or something. Nothing serious and i've never heard of anything harmful in Guam.<br ...
Guam, Guam tbeaner21... throat. Robert woke moments later and I brought us both down with "I'm ill," and went straight back to sleep. In the morning I still felt ill enough to eat very little and we were at the airport at 6.45a.m.Some of the waiting passengers wore flowered head-dresses did not look like fresh flowers but I could not tell if they were rather old paper flowers or plastic ones. Maybe they were fresh.
Guama, Guam llelyn... Guam actually reminded me a bit of Mallorca, Spain in the off season- the small strip of touristy places in the one town, surrounded fields and roads. I suppose that Guam is to the Japanese what Mallorca is to the Germans- a playground. I did notice that the Japanese people there are very relaxed. Whenever I see Japanese tourists, they are usually moving moving moving with their digital cameras and their knapsacks. Japanese tourists on Guam were mellow. The ...
