    ... 1/2 hours, I walked over to see the elephants waiting to be used in the trekking. This would have to be a low light of the trip, even as I type this I am crying again. The mahouts (handlers) had long sticks with hooks at the end and were definitely not in the same relationships with their elephants as I witnessed in Chiang Mai.
