9th Anniversary was a Great Day!

We had a great day on our 9th anniversary! We went on all day Catamaran trip with the entire TI crew. We 1st stopped off at coral reef where we wnet snorkling and saw many tropical fish, turtles and lots of colorful coral. We then stopped off at the Coco Beach Club on the island of Nevis and had lunch, rum punch and enjoyed time on wave runners. On the way back to St Kitts Island, it's customary to dance around the boat for good luck so we danced to raggae music around the boat!. Back in Frig...

... Kitts. Im really impressed with him because he's very knowledgeable about the history of St. Kitts. Anyway first he showed us the town of Basseterre-- a gracefully revived town and capital of St. Kitts. After decades of sleepy existence, this elegant and graceful West Indies town was restored from its shabbiness. Now with carefull and sensitive restoration it revealed all the original charm and preserved its Caribbean architecture. Basseterre is now turning out tobe ...

St Kitts - Sounds French it's actually English...

... tour of the island for the afternoon. This was a good way to see the sights and chat with a local who could explain the history and current happenings on the island. We drove through lots of small villages and up to an historic fort where Lord Horatio Nelson held of a French invasion. (It seems that just about all these islands have been fought over by the French and British, they now seem to alternate as you cruise ...

The Barrett-O'Keefe's bucked tradition and went to Nevis instead of Hawaii. Overall I would say it was a good decision. The flight was shorter and the time change was minimal. The best part was staying in a beautiful house with our own pool. With the downturn in ...

... of the Caribbean Sea. I didn`t have plenty of time, but I hope to go back there and make a trip around the island. The internet is damn expensive there - 2$ for 20 min. The pictures are average quality - neither of us - professional photographers - didn`t bring a camera with him :o), thus Annie was shooting with her mobile phone. Love to everyone.

Cricket Man!!!

... chat about cricket, which is no problems as far as I'm concerned. Stopping off at my hotel for a quick shower, I sauntered into Basseterre, about 3 miles away, to check things out. Ostensibly the trip was to source tickets for the game which was on Friday, but it also happened when I got there that the Aussies were still training at the ground, so I sauntered round and watched them for an hour or so.

Landed in St Kitts arond 2PM on 4/30. Hotel is big, plantation style. Huisje bouwen?!

... dorp.

On to St. Kitts

... out dangers as we went. The trail was well worn with many conveniently-placed roots for handholds. With the heat the sweat just poured down any place it could. When we got to the top, the wind cooled us as we took some time to look into the crater while Scott spread out a lunch of fresh tuna, cheese, bread, carrots and a sweet that he called "guava cheese" that tasted much like applets and/or cotlets. The hike back ...
