Historical Traveler Reviews La Quinta Inn & Suites Cocoa Beach Oceanfront

Deneen at front desk so helpful

      from

I was bumped off a flight at the last minute, and traveled alone to Cocoa with 2 small children during the height of spring break. Deneen at the front desk was so kind and helpful. She is the epitome of service and courteousness.

      Wonderful

      from

we have stayed at the oceanside three times now and everything has always been excellent. anything we needed was tended to immediately.

the view is beautiful, overlooking the pier, and our room is always clean. having easy access to the pier is great. the bar downstairs has great drinks and a lovely atmosphere. we won't stay anywhere else in cocoa now that we have been spoiled by the oceanside!

      Filthy carpet, inadequate maid service

      from

The bottom of my feet will never be the same again. Within thirty minutes of walking on the carpet, my feet were BLACK. The remaining four days were spent ruining over eight pairs of socks as I'm certain no amount of bleach or soaking will ever render them wearable. The bath mats in the tub/showers were slimy and slippery in both of the adjoining rooms. Maid service doesn't arrive until late afternoon and at best you can trade your towels and assist with trash disposal. If you don't ask, you won't even receive that. The lobby staff was very pleasant and the location and view superb.

      Dirty and Damp

      from

We stayed at this hotel for the Halloween Weekend and had a BAD experience ... the hotel was SEVERELY under-staffed .... Imagine staying in the same room for days .. without it being cleaned!

      A good choice

      from

We stayed 3 nights over Labor Day Weekend 2003. Found the accomodations to be very nice all things considered. The rooms are clean and spacious. Maid service could be a little more efficient. Complimentary continental breakfast is great - it either tides you over until you walk the 2 short blocks to Perkins for breakfast or for those non-breakfast people it has just what you need. I would recommend this hotel - If you're wanting an oceanfront room, I would not want to be on the 1st floor. You won't be able to see the ocean because of the sand dunes. We had the 2nd floor and it was fine.

      Very average

      from

I got a great deal on the internet, only to receive the worst room in this place, after complaining they moved us up to the fifth floor still the room was very small, we stayed for 7 nights. Only one suite . Staff was nice.

      Tropical, Serene and beautiful!

      from

We stayted at Oceanside Inn for 3 days and loved every second of it! A very tropical feel to the amazing surroundings and a very clean and comfortable room. The view was outstanding of the ocean and the cocoa beach pier! We would recommend Oceanside Inn to anyone.

      Great place to stay

      from

I have just stayed for two days at the Cocoa Beach Oceanside Inn. We watched the Space Shuttle launch from the Roof top veiwing deck, it was great! The Hotel and staff were also great I will definetely go there again !

      Great Property Love it!!

      from

I have to say that I have stayed there for the last 3 years and have no complaints about the hotel. I will be back at the Cocoa Beach Oceanside again in the new year! can't wait. Its right on the Beach!!

      Stay away

      from

I found this hotel on the net. AAA gave it a good review as did fordors so I thought I was safe. We arrived in the afternoon and were satisfied that it was clean and right on the beach with a balcony overlooking the ocean. We went out to dinner and came back when it was dark out. I turned on the lights and saw roaches !!! Needless to say we were packed and out of there in about 3 minutes. We got a refund. We paid 90 a night and went down the street to the Hilton which was only 70 a night.

This was the first time I ever booked a hotel that was not a major chain and I don't know if I ever will again as I have never had this happen to me before.

... dinner was a disaster - we waited about 1.5 hours and either it did not taste good or you simply wondered how you could need such a long time for a simple toasted sandwich, especially when it’s not really busy in the restaurant. The following day we decided not to risk anything and just cooked dinner. Otherwise, we used the two days for chatting (in person and not via Skype), to watch photos, to wander along the beach and to ...

As we move around the LCC we are at all time accompanied by 2 security guards, the tour guide mentions them several times, they are stout & staunch, stern & unsmiling and ready to taser you at a moments notice for straying off the path (in reality they are unarmed). Personally I think it is part of the schtick, the one in the ballcap who rode the elevator stood out to ...

... for the entrance despite the fact that I am telling her how to get there, DBT is located on an awkward 3 point intersection. She just ignores my directions until we are about to pass the driveway for a 3rd time. I shout out, turn left now, to prevent another lap. I am very frustrated by US cabbies and I show my angst by not tipping, and telling her why in no uncertain terms.

She departs with a few choice words directed my way including some ...

Mike and I enjoyed the sunny, warm weather of Cocoa Beach, Florida, this afternoon during our port of call in Port Canaveral. Nothing special here, but it was a nice change of pace from the 30-something-degree weather we left behind in the Mid-Atlantic a couple days ago.

I had terrible all-night insomnia my second night aboard Norwegian Breakaway as we sailed south from New York to Florida. After going to bed at 12:56 a.m., I was unable to sleep ...

... br> So I just took it easy today, updated the blog, read my book which I'd brought over with me but this was the first time I'd opened it up, went to the beach after lunch and swam and enjoyed the sunshine.

Went back to the condo and made myself some happy hour, sitting on the balcony once again enjoying the view and the rabbit made an appearance again. Gav got home at about 7pm and joined me for happy ...
