Coco Loco Lodge Puerto Viejo

So we stayed two nights in the tree house ... amazing! We cooked our meals, played epic frisbee on our private beach, napped in the hammocks etc ... BUT, after the 2nd night in the mosquito netting and the VERY REAL sounds of the jungle srrounding us, we wondered what it might be like to stay at the 5 star resort we'd passed up the street (pretty sure the only one on this coast). ... fashion show - they'd land, pose, change position, pose again, then fly away. I was delighted! And I must have stood there for 30 minutes shooting away. It was a photographer's fun time, for real! Dang I wish I had that camera cable so I could show you. ... guide-less for once) for a few hours seeing monkeys, snakes and fascinating vegetation. Our next-most ambitious activities include "where shall we eat dinner?" It's an exhausting task. (*) My kids tell me that "sick" is a positive adjective. I wonder what reaction I would get if I referred to my work at Cisco as being "sick"? Anyhow, "sick" surf means that you get thrown ass-over-tea-kettle while the entire Caribbean forces its way up your nose. "Sick" indeed.

... r jul, og de der er her i julen får næsten alle sammen besøg eller bor hos en familie så jeg synes det er rigtig dejligt de kommer :) Jeg er så småt ved at kigge på hvad jeg skal vise dem af gode steder. December og januar er sommermåneder her i Tamarindo så der er højest sandsynligt sol hele tiden de 2 uger de er her! Caitlyn is leaving straight from San Jose after this, so she's carrying an enormous duffel bag in addition to her purse and backpack--we call it her body bag, because you could literally fit a dead body or two in there. Having finally grown tired of Cahuita, as the weather was pretty poor for the last three days, we have moved on to Puerto Viejo a bit further along the coast. Our final days in Cahuita were lazy and uneventful, mainly spent lounging around on the beach or in a hammock at the hostel. It was very relaxing, except for Rachael when a bird decided to give her a bit of Costa Rican good luck by ******** on her! It was an excellent choice of target and shot. ... de pouvoir faire un stop pour la première partie du trajet. La plupart de gens qui vient ici, c´est pour faire du palmes, masques y tuba car il y a beaucoup de recifes de coral. C´était dommage que les vagues soient trop gros et les courants trop forts pour nager jusqu´à la creste des recifes. Sur la plage, on a recolté quelques noix de coco pour grignoter et pour avoir un peu de force. Gràce à David, on a pu ouvrir les cocos avec son machete.

... for a night or two. Cahuita is located on the Caribbean Sea in Costa Rica and has a National Park with some beautiful beaches at its doorstep. That afternoon we headed out for lunch and found our new 'favourite place' restaurant which was run by a friendly Rastafarian guy whom was a gem. Afterwards we hit the beach. The Beach closest to town is Playa Blanca and is back by jungle. It's a gorgeous setting ...

... me had prime rib which I'm told was very tender. I went with the Cooking Light Tilapia which was also good, and used up the saved calories by getting 2 desserts, a coconut cream pie and a blackberry cheesecake. Yum. We went to see the Comedy Magic of Rich Purpura tonight. Pretty funny, kind of like Don Rickles doing card tricks. When we got back to our room, there was a snake on our bed. Don't worry, it was the terry cloth kind with chocolate mint eyes.

... eine gelbe "Oropel" (Palmenvip**) hoch oben im Baum - die **ste Schlange, die wir in Costa Rica zu Gesicht bekamen. Endlich! Und **st noch giftig. ;-) Wir amuesi**ten uns ob ein** Krabbe, die sich aufstellt und droht, wenn man sich ihr naeh**t. Ansonsten sahen wir nur einen Fregattvogel und viele T**miten-Nest**.
