Day 21 - Return to BC

Less than a two hour drive to the provincial campground at Lakelse Lake; another great temperate rainforest with huge trees that the kids enjoyed playing in. Both families had fresh salmon purchased at the fish market in Prince Rupert, but by the time it was cooked it was raining pretty hard so we ate in lawn chairs under our awning as the picnic tables were not moveable. Even More Extreme
We left Prince George to a great sunny morning.
Every curve, turn, hill, and mountain opened us to a new SPECTACULAR view of the majesty of the mountains. Snow capped in the distance, with glaciers high on the mountain tops.
We stopped and had lunch in Smithers. In front of the tourist info booth we created our lunch in the shadows of the most magnificent view I have ever seen.

Prince Rupert – Terrace
We beginnen de dag met boodschappen doen. Dat blijft een belevenis en kost nog steeds tijd (en een beetje frustratie). Daarna kunnen we de leuke dingen gaan doen: we starten met een bezoekje aan een historische cannery. Het is een soort klein openlucht museumpje, waarin wordt getoond hoe vroeger de zalm werd ingeblikt. Leuk om te zien hoe ze eind 19e eeuw al een volledig geautomatiseerde lijn hiervoor wisten op te zetten.

This is a pretty standard hotel but the only problem is that the air conditioning is very noisy.
