Der heutige Tag war einfach schön... ...zmörgele auf amerikanische Art, mit Blick auf's Meer, dazu Sonne und blue Sky. Heute wurde es 36 Grad warm, doch ich kann allen sagen, es ist auszuhalten... Nach dem Frühstück unternahmen meine Kollegin und ich einen langen Spaziergang den Läden in Laguna Beach entlang, besichtigten die eine oder andere Galerie und genossen die Bewegung. Zurück im Hotel schwamm ich einige Längen im Pool und dann konnte ...
Kulturschock pur!
... wir vorher am UV in der Mensa gegessen, sodass wir nicht viel runterbekommen haben von dem echt sehr leckeren Essen! Wir haben uns noch ein wenig mit den Töchtern unterhalten und die Gastgeberin hat sogar für uns Salsa getanzt. Das sah richtig gut aus!!! Wir sind dann zum Homestead gefahren (wo Anika und fast alle anderen deutschen Studenten wohnen) und wollten eigentlich mit den Stuttgartern in den Sligtclub nach Downtown, doch irgendwie waren wir ziemlich geschafft ...

They were more astounded by the whole casino scene - any hotel you walk through basically makes you walk through the gaming floor (very sly) so we had a good conversation about gambling and when it's OK and how it can go wrong for some people! I suppose that's one of the really good things about travel, it definitely opens their eyes up to things they haven't experienced before. ... s an art fair, but obviously that sounds too dull (especially being next door the sawdust festival), so the finest brains at Laguna Beach city hall gave it a sexy little frisson by making it sound like an affair. Genius. It’s the Fine Art version of the craft fair next door. But having seen the brochure I would put most of the work in the same category as those giant prints you could get in the 80s of a naked couple in silhouette walking on a curved beach ...
