We left Hornby and drove down to stay in Victoria for a couple of nights. It's a quaint little town and our luck with good weather continued. We shunned whale watching in Tofino as we were told there was a much better chance of seeing Killer Whales if we did it in Victoria. Unfortunately it wasn't to be and was a bit of a let down. We were out on …
A truly spectacular floral show

Day three
Woke up without alarms around 9:00, and stumbled to breakfast at The Blue Fox Cafe, a place Brian found on YELP. There was a line, which is usually a good sign. The breakfast was excellent, and whilst eating we planned our day. Today was for re-grouping after two very long days culminating in the much anticipated ferry from Washington to Victoria BC. After breakfast, we stopped at a cigar shop and ...
Victoria - BC's Capital City
Victoria brought me right back to Bangor in many ways. The coast line is so very similar, with the exception of the amazing views of the Washington Mountains on the other side of the Salish Sea. Marcelo and I enjoyed scrambling over the rocks and exploring the city. Victoria is full of Colonial history which is immediately apparent from the imposing Parliament Buildings, ...
Sophia Turns Five
... to play school at home with Meredith as her student. (Meredith is learning a lot of French too and can already count to seventy)! Sophia is a master of the monkey bars and has callouses on her hands from practicing. She goes to gymnastics every Saturday morning and still loves to dress up, dance, sing, colour, and make crafts. She is growing like a weed and looks very tall to me these days. We're excited to see all that she will learn and do in the year ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Coast Victoria Harbourside Hotel & Marina
Great rooms & lovely view
We enjoyed three days at this hotel, in a room overlooking the harbour. The room was fantastic, really clean with terrific views of the harbour and teh seaplanes taking off and landing from the little balcony. The location was great too. The only criticism would be the hotel staff, we really didn't find them that friendly at all, we practically had to drag information from the concierge who seemed to be sufferering severe depression. The service was pretty slow in the dining room too but the food was good (room service was excellent). All in all I would recommend this hotel to others just don't expect to be welcomed with open arms.
Very nice
My family stayed at the Coast Harbourside for two nights in April. We were treated very well by all staff, but have to say the drivers of the free shuttle service were outstanding! We have three children and found the shuttle to be heaven sent! The drivers went out of their way for us and made the trip just that much nicer! The indoor/outdoor pool was also great fun for the kids. My only complaint would be that the restaurant was very high priced, especially for a family of 5....but we did utilize it for breakfast and the buffet was wonderful.
Enjoyed Coast Victoria Harbourside
Great Location---close to downtown and on the harbor Excellent and courteous staff---helpful and very friendly in that sincere"canadian" way. Would not hesitate to go back!!
Nice hotel
March 8-10, 2004 We stayed here two nights. Local calls were free. The room was nice, with a king bed. We could actually see water from our small balcony even though we had a highly discounted price from expedia.com in the off season. They had free shuttle service to downtown. The indoor/outdoor pool was wonderful! The hot tub was the biggest I have ever been in. They were great. We did not try out the restaurant because the prices were really high. The staff was very polite.
Modern Elegance, Great for Kids
We stayed at this hotel on a family referral and Wow! It didn't disappoint.
Our kids couldn't get enough of the pool. An indoor/outdoor type, with great ocean views. The restaurant, the Blue Crab, had some of the best seafood around.
Our room was great. We had a suite with a large balcony with great views, and the living room had a pull-out for the kids.
This hotel was very well-priced, with great service, and we'd recommend it to anyone.
Amazing accommadations
Coast Harborside hotel exceeded our expections. The concierge went the extra mile to personally book our leisure activities. The gourmet Italian complimentary coffee was delicious and our hotel harbour view was beautiful. But most of all the staff was kind, friendly and always attentive to our needs. Thanks for the wonderful and amazing accommodations. Laura.

Beautiful Hotel!
The Coast Harbourside is a beautiful hotel. Well maintained with outstanding rooms, service and hotel personnel. We loved the location and the indoor/outdoor pool. The hotel is just an excellent value and a truly 4 star hotel.
Excllent hotel!
The Victoria Coast Harbourside Hotel is an exceptionally beautiful hotel on a location that cann't be beat! Our rooms were tastefully decorated. We had a wonderful view of the marina. The service and staff were all very nice. The hotel is modern, immaculate and the walkway to the Victoria tourist attractions is wonderful. I'd certainly recommend it highly.
Great Hotel Near Everything!
My bride and I stayed at the Coast Harbourside Hotel in Victoria for our Honeymoon last year. It was great!
The hotel is located right on the harbour, so you can walk along the pathway right up to all thr tourist attractions. Also, "Orca Spirit", the best whale watching tour operator is based out of this hotel, so you can just stroll downstairs to go whale watching.
Fodors gives it low marks because of the high rack rate, but we surfed the net and found a great discount rate during the "Shoulder Season", before all the tourists pour in to the Inner Harbour. For the $100/night we paid it was fantastic!! Here's a tip: after booking the hotel online, call the hotel directly and ask for an upgrade to a harbour-facing room.
If you don't feel like walking, the hotel offers complimentary shuttle service anywhere downtown. Also, the harbour ferry has a stop right at the hotel.
A couple of words of warning though: the restaurant at the hotel is VERY expensive, but so are all restaurants within view of the harbour. Also, all the local seaplane companies use the harbour for their runway, so get used to the sounds of planes taking off.
Enjoy!!
