      Great rooms & lovely view

      from

We enjoyed three days at this hotel, in a room overlooking the harbour. The room was fantastic, really clean with terrific views of the harbour and teh seaplanes taking off and landing from the little balcony. The location was great too. The only criticism would be the hotel staff, we really didn't find them that friendly at all, we practically had to drag information from the concierge who seemed to be sufferering severe depression. The service was pretty slow in the dining room too but the food was good (room service was excellent). All in all I would recommend this hotel to others just don't expect to be welcomed with open arms.

      Very nice

      from

My family stayed at the Coast Harbourside for two nights in April. We were treated very well by all staff, but have to say the drivers of the free shuttle service were outstanding! We have three children and found the shuttle to be heaven sent! The drivers went out of their way for us and made the trip just that much nicer! The indoor/outdoor pool was also great fun for the kids. My only complaint would be that the restaurant was very high priced, especially for a family of 5....but we did utilize it for breakfast and the buffet was wonderful.

      Enjoyed Coast Victoria Harbourside

Great Location---close to downtown and on the harbor Excellent and courteous staff---helpful and very friendly in that sincere"canadian" way. Would not hesitate to go back!!

      Nice hotel

      from

March 8-10, 2004 We stayed here two nights. Local calls were free. The room was nice, with a king bed. We could actually see water from our small balcony even though we had a highly discounted price from expedia.com in the off season. They had free shuttle service to downtown. The indoor/outdoor pool was wonderful! The hot tub was the biggest I have ever been in. They were great. We did not try out the restaurant because the prices were really high. The staff was very polite.

      Modern Elegance, Great for Kids

      from

We stayed at this hotel on a family referral and Wow! It didn't disappoint.

Our kids couldn't get enough of the pool. An indoor/outdoor type, with great ocean views. The restaurant, the Blue Crab, had some of the best seafood around.

Our room was great. We had a suite with a large balcony with great views, and the living room had a pull-out for the kids.

This hotel was very well-priced, with great service, and we'd recommend it to anyone.

      Amazing accommadations

      from

Coast Harborside hotel exceeded our expections. The concierge went the extra mile to personally book our leisure activities. The gourmet Italian complimentary coffee was delicious and our hotel harbour view was beautiful. But most of all the staff was kind, friendly and always attentive to our needs. Thanks for the wonderful and amazing accommodations. Laura.

      Beautiful Hotel!

      from

The Coast Harbourside is a beautiful hotel. Well maintained with outstanding rooms, service and hotel personnel. We loved the location and the indoor/outdoor pool. The hotel is just an excellent value and a truly 4 star hotel.

      Excllent hotel!

      from

The Victoria Coast Harbourside Hotel is an exceptionally beautiful hotel on a location that cann't be beat! Our rooms were tastefully decorated. We had a wonderful view of the marina. The service and staff were all very nice. The hotel is modern, immaculate and the walkway to the Victoria tourist attractions is wonderful. I'd certainly recommend it highly.

      Great Hotel Near Everything!

      from

My bride and I stayed at the Coast Harbourside Hotel in Victoria for our Honeymoon last year. It was great!

The hotel is located right on the harbour, so you can walk along the pathway right up to all thr tourist attractions. Also, "Orca Spirit", the best whale watching tour operator is based out of this hotel, so you can just stroll downstairs to go whale watching.

Fodors gives it low marks because of the high rack rate, but we surfed the net and found a great discount rate during the "Shoulder Season", before all the tourists pour in to the Inner Harbour. For the $100/night we paid it was fantastic!! Here's a tip: after booking the hotel online, call the hotel directly and ask for an upgrade to a harbour-facing room.

If you don't feel like walking, the hotel offers complimentary shuttle service anywhere downtown. Also, the harbour ferry has a stop right at the hotel.

A couple of words of warning though: the restaurant at the hotel is VERY expensive, but so are all restaurants within view of the harbour. Also, all the local seaplane companies use the harbour for their runway, so get used to the sounds of planes taking off.

      Enjoy!!

At 1245 I went to the theatre for a talk by the Second Officer on Navigation, from the Bridge perspective, he was very good explaining everything about the ship, engines, running of the ship, generation, food, hospitality, etc, etc, a lot to take in, but very interesting.
Then lunch upstairs on the 15th floor. I played ...

The next morning we woke up really early, got the airport two hours early to find that it was the SMALLEST airport I have ever been to or even heard of- 10 gates. Literally just 10 gates, it was insane. From there we took a 20 minute flight from the island ...

... frozen, noses dripping, we looked particularly attractive! We were rewarded with a pod of 4 whales, the Canadians have the same 100m limit to these mammals, so unless you have a good lens on your camera (thanks Cait) you may not catch a good photo. Out of Robs 100 photos we got about 10 cracker photos. The whales breaching and blowholes emptying - really impressive. Then off to a seal colony - noisy and ...

... something I've not wanted to admit for a while, but I couldn't really ignore it. Thankfully when I returned to the hotel after the brief reception, Edward Skyped me from Australia, heard me out, and made me feel much better. Very appreciative, I am.

So, on the note of people having different paths and priorities, it only just hit me as I was riding an escalator here in the Victoria airport (I've a good few hours to kill until my 11:50p flight) that I'm ...
