This hotel is a 2 minute walk from the sea, restaurants, shops and Canada Place. The room is big, quiet with very comfy beds with a nice view of the water and mountains with windows spanning the whole length of the wall.

After a 9 hour flight we have arrived in Vancouver. We didn't have any sleep on the plane but managed to stay awake until after 6pm. An excellent lunch of a fried chicken salad (not suited for vegetarians) for myself, and a beef brisket sandwich for Carla followed. I wish I could say that we washed this down with some healthy spring water but we indulged in some of the local fine ale to wash it all down. A habit that would follow us for the next few days. Lots of great lights inside of cloth made to look like blinking sea urchins. Must go to sleep.... Joanna flies out tomorrow. I'll miss her but, I think she is doing the right thing. She needs her kids and they need her. I'll stay here an extra day before heading to ...

... changed and made our way down to Gas town which is Vancouver's oldest part of the city, it is a haven for good restaurants and pubs all in a small block, we ended up in the Steam works which is an ale house, they brew their own beers on site and do fabulous meals, the food was excellent. We ambled home around 930 pm, I had to keep checking my watch as the sun was still high in the sky, I'd say people could easily loose track of time with out a sunrise or ...
