This hotel is a 2 minute walk from the sea, restaurants, shops and Canada Place. The room is big, quiet with very comfy beds with a nice view of the water and mountains with windows spanning the whole length of the wall.

After a 9 hour flight we have arrived in Vancouver. We didn't have any sleep on the plane but managed to stay awake until after 6pm. We booked a whale watching tour for when we come back from the cruise. Tourist information near Canada Place was very helpful! We'd forgotten our binoculars, went to buy some cheap ones nearby.

      We was evicted!!!

... a group of five friends who they have known forever and who live in Vancouver. Liam is one of them and he picked us up from the airport as we would be staying at his place for the next couple of days. He clearly did his best because the air mattress was waiting for us and the fridge was filled with yogurt, bagels and strawberries, which was adorable. I also met the other guys (Ryan, Andrew and Cory) that night, when the six of us went to a pub called The Flying Beaver ...

... s not too far from the hotel.

Now we are back in the hotel room (9pm) and I don't think bed is far off!!

2 observations - 1. Vancouver has way too many homeless people and some use animals as drawcards to encourage sympathy. 2. In Australia if the toilet is full to the rim it is blocked but in Canada that is the normal state of affairs. It is so strange to see the water so high up.

... and very appropriate for the city in addition to the torch there was also a big whale looking sculpture that looked as though it was made from Lego. Once we finished our quick city tour we checked into the hostel and had some free time. I just walked through the streets looking at the culture of the city. I also couldn't resist the crepe shop and ended up with a Nutella and banana crepe that was to die for. I then went back to the hostel to clean up ...
