... pilgrimage attempt to see Ellen live is about to come to an end.
We pull into Bob's Big Boy for breakfast with Bill... hmmmm... how's that for alliteration? Headache calmer, stomach eased with a light breakfast, an hour later we join Tracy who is waiting in the VIP line up for us at Warner Brothers (WB for those in the biz.)
The energy is high in the line as people tell their stories of how they got their tickets. Thus proving once again how difficult Ellen ...

... home. A few drinks across the road in the evening before heading back towards Santa Monica again to hit a couple more bars. On the Saturday we did a hop on hop off bus tour taking us through Santa Monica, Beverley hills and Hollywood. Sitting on an open top double decker bus, many of the low hanging trees needed to be ducked for whilst on route! We had a walk along Hollywood boulevard, the walk of fame and drove down Rodeo drive which is full of the most ...

... Psycho movie, experienced a flash flood, and included King Kong 3D visual tunnel - very cool. Lunch on the go - hotdog and chips, not really fast food or healthy for that matter but filled a gap. Down 4 steep escalators to the lower lot for The Mummy ride, not only fast but backwards fast, goodness gracious, and Don wonders why my face is contorted in the auto photos again! Next ride was Jurassic Park but ...

First blog entry! The countdown is over and I am on way to Auckland.

I have to say though, LAX is poorly laid out. Not the worst airport I've ever been to--NAIA holds that honor--but still getting around is kind of a pain. Kind of. Maybe it's all the construction around here. And there aren't enough arrivals/departures screens. I was told to walk from terminal 6 across the giant parking lot and the roads with my bags to terminal 2 because they ...

... were only 2 guys working out. The walkway was crowded but the people watching was great. We caught the hop-on-hop-off bus again and disembarked at Santa Monica Pier. It's more like a side show alley than a regular pier, even though there were many locals fishing from the end. And people, the beach was crowded and even though the water was cold there were plenty of locals swimming. We ended our day with a brisk walk to a local movie theatre where we saw the newly released ...
