I left Suzhou at 6:00am Wednesday morning in a private car (I was lucky Kate came with me because she needed to do some stuff in Shanghai). There was yet another long weekend (they seem to have one every month over here!) for Remembrance Day so Nath and I decided to take a gamble on the weather and caught a ferry to Salt Spring Island, one of the Southern Gulf Islands between Vancouver Island and the mainland. The island is renowned for its lovely hikes, artist galleries and gourmet food. It was a brilliant sunny day and it was lovely crusing amongst the islands, watching the bald eagles circle the cliffs on ...
