The staff were friendly and the breakfast was good. I liked this hotel and the price was fair, especially considering that we had a dog. Lots of parking and very accommodating of our SUV and trailer combination. Late check out was granted without extra fee, enjoyed my stay here.

The next day we decided to do the segway tour which Rob's cousin recommended it to us. We have both never ridden segways before so I was worried I wouldn't be able to do it. We were in a group of 8 people and first we had a few lessons on how to use the segways. Then we went on a tour around Grant Park. We went past the fountain which has ...

        Into Chicago

... along the Chicago River and a few of the 45 split bridges that cross it. The number of people about on a Sunday arvo was amazing, but when you consider that the city has a population of 2.7 million and all the shops are open it was not so surprising. When the tour ended it had got very hot and steamy, so we popped into the Hard Rock Cafe for a late lunch and a drink, before going back to the motel to see if our rooms were ready. Thankfully they were and ...

The next day we walked over to the south side of the river (The Loop), checking out the architecture Chicago is famous for on the way.

We then took the bus down to the Museum of Science and Industry. I had enjoyed coming here as a kid and remembered attractions such the the coal mine and the captured German U-Boat (both of which ...

Wow I can't believe it when I wake up, sun is streaming though the windows and I can't help but smile. I've got a tour booked today with Weird Chicago and I was hoping for nice weather.  Today's tour is called Blood, Guns and Valentines.  I can't wait to learn the history of the gangster side of Chicago.  More importantly my infatuation with Al Capone! My taxi pulls up to the meeting spot pretty early so I just stand around in the sunshine ...
