Marrakech, Morocco traceybelleGot up at 4am and got to the airport ok in the taxi the hotel where we stayed is really half a mile away from the airport you can see the planes taking off and the taxi cost us 20 euro they know how to rip you off around here. I am excited about the change of scenery and also about going somewhere that is hot I cant wait to get my summer clothes back on again! I hate it on aeroplanes though when people in front of you put the seats down, I know that you can but there is such a ...
Marrakech, Morocco traceybelle... we avoided the lively Djemaa El-Fna and most of the souqs, instead focusing on a few specific sites to tour. Since many sites are closed over the long lunch hour, we first had a nice lunch overlooking the metalworkers' square, which was surrounded by high, mud-brick buildings. Several of the posts atop these surrounding buildings had huge storks’ nests on them, and the square seemed to be a gathering place for storks! I never did figure ...

Don’t you worry – I’m sure Murray will get his beer before too long.

[Editor (AnnaLisa)’s post-publication note: We changed dinner plans and went to “Beyrout Restaurant” last night. We enjoyed an amazing meal of eight varieties of mezzah, including the ...
Marrakech, Morocco annalisamurray... And oh my, we had the best balcony seats in the house as the sun turned the scene to a rosy glow and the square came alive w/ smokey food stalls, snake charmers, jugglers, magicians, et al as darkness descended.

All in all, a most magical night to top off my fantastic adventures in Morocco.

Marrakech, Morocco globalgirl... our way back to Djemaa el Fna when the call to prayer begins pouring out of the Minaret. After hours navigating Souks and the Kissarias we decided that Marrakech could also be named a Wonder of the World - if you consider the World's Largest Flea Market a wonder. Skippy insisted we run the full gauntlet of vendors in the plaza for dinner - and we ultimately ate at one. Although, our waiter barely spoke any English ...
Marrakech, Morocco rebshark... djemaa el fna. Leah got freaked out by the snakes (even the wooden ones) so we headed into the souks before tea and home for an early night. Up early for day tour out to cascades d ouzoud and got up a little earlier to have breakfast at the patisserie - yumbo. After a 3 hour bus and Lisa loudly announcing to our bus of old(er) English speaking travellers that she "didnt mind old people", we arrived. Checked out the falls and ...
Marrakech, Morocco leahandgregTuesday, February 28, 2006 Marrakech - Wee Hours of Early Morning Dear Readers: It is just after midnight, and I am finally finished packing after the Farewell Dinner. It was a delicious and festive occasion, not only celebrating the conclusion of the tour, but also the birthday of one of my clients. There were singers and dancers, but most important the food was out of this world. There was course after course of the most amazing dishes. One course was pigeon (squab)! The ...
