Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria adrian.tschopp... forever in time with your fellow traveler friends.
Yesterday marked another day where I wake up and the unthinkable is about to happen. Laying on a beach led to riding a horse in a bikini and then helping ourselves to a hotel pool for the final hours of the bright sun. I don't make this up.
Today we will get back in the car, back on the road. We will shake hands, part ways and I am about to set sail off the ...
Hm... Kako bih poceo o utiscima?
Poluprazni hoteli, poluprazni restorani, poluprazni autobusi ...

Plovdiv to Nessebar (on the Black Sea)
Sunny 30 degrees
We made our way out of Plovdiv through the city and then along a cobbled road where we saw another stork nest, this time on a church steeple. The drive to Nessebar was fairly easy with some motorways and reasonably wide roads. The passed huge fields of barley, sunflowers (not yet flowering) and vineyards. We arrived at Nessebar but found it is only open to residential traffic so had to park ...
... but didn't have road numbers. But the compass indicated it was the right direction and I sped off along a wide straight road that intersected the motorway. It was so strange to be making 18-20 kmh after the last few days 8kmh crawl. I passed under the motorway and a lot of the traffic turned off and continued towards a low ridge. Then came a sign for a road to a minor village. this sign was unusually comprehensive and showed that I needed the ...
Burgas, Bulgaria i_could_walkWhile staying on Bulgaria's surprisingly stunning Black Sea coast, I took a trip to the nearby local jewel of Nessebar. Nessebar is a pictureque and small town with thousands of years of history under its belt. It has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage site and is more traditionally Bulgarian than the neighbouring beach resorts although some of its charm is lost by the huge number of tourists and souvenir ...
Nessebar, Burgas, Bulgaria gfleming... room in the old town instead. Our guy wanted us out by 9:30 (earliest check out time ever) so packed a breakfast needing fruit and yoghurt and headed out to the beach. Lovely and hot so ate some breakfast, sun baked with some reading and then a swim. I'm afraid to say I went a little bit silly - it being my first swim in a while and I had a whale of a time showing the waves who was boss - although they did get a few good ones in there ...
Sozopol, Bulgaria leahandgregBurgas was hosting the first ever MTV Spirit of Burgas festival with Groove Armada, Koseen, Ministry of Sound etc. It was situated on the beach, had an electric atmosphere, great music and was bouncing! All for £20 as well. If you happen to see the festival on MTV you will probably see me & G. Aside from the festival there is nothing happening in Burgas.
Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria stevewadeSunny Beach is a holiday resort on the coast of Bulgaria. It's basically sunbathe all day and booze all night. Lots of British, Sweedish, Norwegian, Dutch and German tourists. Not the nicest place in the world but good for a chill out and a few nights on the lash.
Sunny Beach, Bulgaria stevewadeBurgas to Malko Tarnovo (95km) Best bit: Huge national park (1200km of it) Worst bit: hot! Looking at my map I had two choices on how to reach the Turkish border today (a) via a big red road (b) via small windy village backroads Red roads in Bulgaria are invariably mini motorways. The associated terror levels with these (for a self-confessed softie like myself) are much like a ride at Alton Towers with no safety belts. The ...
Burgas, Burgas, Bulgaria springy100Velki Preslav to Burgas Distance 162km Best bit: sun Worst bit: having to throw myself into the gutter 5 times today to avoid oncoming traffic!! Well, the Black Sea isnt black. Its kind of a rich blue with gentle waves. The sand feels good under my feet :)
