... hundreds of civilians. It's a popular dive spot near Rovinj now.

We later walked through the narrow streets up and down the hill and soaked up the atmosphere. And we ended up near a Roman temple that was well -preserved.

Pula made a nice day visit and we're glad we did it that way. It's a larger city with a lot going on, but we are enjoying our quiet fishing village up the coast.

... Istrian wine, Malvazija. Before this,our hosts waited for us in the rain outside of the apt. We checked in and found a newly remodeled apartment on the main pedestrian street. We love it! There's not much to do here except explore narrow passageways, watch the boats, and enjoy the sun and seafood.

A bit cooler and rainy this morning. Our last full day in this lovely town. We checked out the fishing fleet again when it arrived - mainly sardines and a few octopus. The guys work so hard taking the fish from huge vats and putting them in boxes, filling the boxes with ice and loading them into trucks. Apparently the fish are all trucked off to Italy for sale as Croatia only has a population of 4.1 million and Italy has 67 ...

The group gathered outside the hotel at 09:00 and made the downhill walk to the transit bus, which took us to the bottom of the hill where Peter was waiting in our tour bus.
