We stopped here to see Tulum which is the site of a Pre-Columbian Maya walled city. The ruins are located on a 39 feet (12-meter) cliffs, along the east coast of the peninsula. In order to get to the ruins from the town, we picked up a local bus for the 10 minute ride and then walked to the site and around for a total of 5 miles during the afternoon.

park. We passed both well-excavated ball courts and some buildings that were
almost completely hidden by the trees that have taken over their slopes.

After only a little while, it was time to catch a bus back to Tulum Pueblo where
we now sit writing these posts. We are about to head back to the hostel in order
to enjoy our last night of cabanas and crabs.

... to keep the DJ playing for an extra hour, but when the music stopped, the party refused to do so! We busted out the iPod docking station and continued playing music for another hour. Although we left the party shortly before 1, we heard a fun group brought out the guitars and played their own music into the morning hours. Apparently we have our own resident musicians - Nolan and Jim ... P.S. There was no formal Festivus pole, no airing of grievances or feats ...

... around in Playa like a chicken with its head cut off. I went to 7 stores and was home by 1:30pm. Found just about everything I needed, but this was the 3rd time in Playa - so it meant sacrificing with stuff that would just have to do. I didn't really like anything. Dettaglio is in the same plaza with Soriana and has some neat stuff, but it's not cheap. I also later noticed the location of Actual Decoracion but by then I had everything including new bedding, a water ...

We nailed down a design that was exactly what Chris and I had in mind and by the end of the week when it was taking shape, I was so pleased at how it was perfectly executed. ... then climbed back into the boat and headed out into more open water as we made our way back to our starting point. It was so beautiful watching the sun set across the wetlands. At the end of the tour we had dinner at the hotel's resturant along with a spanish couple who had been on the tour, and our tour guide. We then headed back to our tent for an early night.
