Madeira to Puerto Mogan, Gran Canaria
... filled the sails and the trip was done entirely by motor. But the seas were calm, beautiful and brimming with life. Over the three days we enjoyed indian cuisine, attempted at fresh fish and conversations covered a wealth of topics. We saw the odd turtle enjoying the sunshine and a beautiful and lively pod of 12 dolphins came to dance in the bow wave. In the distance we saw the blow hole signs of whales, the tail up the air display and the odd riding fin.

Chillin on the Beach in Africa - Almost...
... got to see one whale, but it was really close up! Then we went closer to shore for some swimming, snorkeling and tubing! It was a great afternoon. Then we had paella for lunch and headed back along the coast to Puerto Rico. It was a super relaxing way to see the island!
The next day we explored the Dunes of Maspalomas which looked exactly how I imagine the Sahara desert (which was pretty close to us actually), only a lot smaller. It was a little weird going ...
Hols with the Family
The family holiday to Gran Canaria has arrived. It seems ages ago since I booked it. I think all of us are ready after suffering various bouts of illness over the past couple of weeks. The respective wash bags contain enough medicines, antibiotics etc to keep a mobile pharmacy in business!!!

On day three we stopped off at Las Palmas Gran Canaria and after convincing the taxi driver who brought us into the city centre from the port that we were definitely taking the number 91 bus south for one and a half hours around the coast he finally let us out of his grip.
