... best chicken we ever tasted in istanbul. Somehow they can't seem to cook beef. I haven't been blown away by lamb either. - Ataturk, the founder of modern turkey seems to be revered here. Haven't been able to have a real conversation about him to a Turk though. There's a picture of him in every shop, much like the king in Thailand. It was a lovely day and we will go into the town tonight to eat at one of the little restaurants in there. Tomorrow we venture over the mountains to visit the Saklikent gorge. We went out tonight and had dinner at a restaurant down at the marina. There was a huge TV screen with a premier ...

A travel blog entry by shaeshae88

... really interesting to learn about how rugs are made and now I have a new found appreciation for this form of artwork and the craftsmanship (or should I say crafts-woman-ship) that goes into making them. After watching the woman in action we headed into the display room and all ordered a complimentary drink. I chose the turkish coffee which came out in a miniture cup looking like a dollop of mud. It was gross, but the caffeine hit worked wonders!

As we all sat sipping ...
