    We drove through heavy rain from Phoenix to Palm Springs. The Entrance to Joshua tree National Park was closed due to the rain, so our initial plan had to be modified. Maybe we'll use the North entrance to the park tomorrow and go for our hike.     ... restaurants so we can park up the car we opened the wine almost as soon as we arrived.

    We were in the pool within the half hour, soaking up the final sunshine before heading to the onsite restaurant for BBQ brisket, chicken and some sort of lentil thingy??? A few games of Uno and it was almost like being on real holidays. The temperature by the way was hovering around 37deg and this was 11pm????
