... path leading to pirates cave. After lunch he was determined to do this, I let him go and got comfy by the pool. He arrived back an hour or so later, extremely sweaty, mumbling something about 189 lung busting steps. He says the tread on the steps was double the normal size. So glad I didn't go. On the way to to the ferry we had planned to stop to see the other Nuraghic ruins that we didn't see the other day, These were supposed to be bigger and better, and they didn't disappoint. The most impressive was a village covering 4 hectares. The biggest most complete tower was the central meeting area for the village and the chiefs dig's. ... cat. The kids adored having more stray cats to feed and play with. They quickly developed a real friendship with one black cat that they named Jean (French pronunciation). We'd find him asleep under their beds late at night or even worse waking the kids when he jumped on their beds. ... way to the waterfront. We have picked a bar/restaurant that has a wood fired pizza oven, and we are currently drinking beers while looking out over a beautiful little marina. It is very quiet - we really are at the end of tourist season. Most of the really big hotels and resort complexes are closed up until next summer. ... In yet another place, we could easily have been in Cradle Mountain National Park - complete with Cradle Mountain. The roads are so much better here too - wider, and a lot less traffic, more like Oz than Italy. We could both easily spend a lot more time here and regret that we only have a few days.
