    ... train plodded along at about 20 or so mph and just never seemed to get moving. Freight after freight went passed and we were put aside every few miles simply to let them passed. All the time we made up by cutting our 4hr stop short at Winnipeg was now lost and we were once again about 6 hours late.

    Dali was an enthusiastic subject for photographers, where he mugged for the camera and played with his moustache. The series of photographs follow the progress of Dali's career.

    As we barreled down the Manitoban highway, we crossed the center of Canada and then drove a half hour into Ontario were we went to a Native Reserve and the people there took us and our gear across one of the many lakes in Lake of the Woods. We arrived at Pioneer Camp, a canoe camp and unloaded our bags into cabins. One for all nine girls and another for the three boys. That night we talked about boys, our cities and our families.

    ... more rested. Our first destination was the Prairie Dog Central Railway which since it was a holiday Monday they had a steam engine pulling some vintage carriages leaving at 11:00am. We managed to get photos All American/Canadian engines have bells as well as whistles.
