... and re creating a homely feel i think we were all very put out when other people arrived at óur´ hostel! I had heard rumours of an amazing empanada (almost like a cornish pasty) that was 6 km away at another beach, so did i push bike run for everyone on an undersided bike, with again no gears, along to get this infamous pasties (They didnt live up to the hype but the scenery was amazing!).. the crew that had ...
Concepcion, Chile jvangeender... coal mines, and they made a famous film about the mine here a few years ago. Now the mine is closed, but is opened for tourists to visit the mine, which extends about 3km out under the sea. The trip down the mine was really impressive, again the miner who was taking us could only speak Spanish, so it was good for improving our language skills, we headed down a lift for about 40metres, then we walked about for 1 hour under the ground. Mining must have ...

Concepcion, Chile stellitita... for, I probably would have hopped on the plane right then and there. But I did make it to the theater...3 buses and 1.5 hours later. Needless to say, the show was over. Experiences like that are both frustrating and humbling. But most days are different. Most days I really enjoy the challenges that this trip presents me, and would gladly stay a few more months. And even though Chilean Spanish is ...
Concepcion, Chile aallen02... I spoke with the head of the English department, and she invited me to participate in conversation tables with her students. Basically, we would spend half the time talking in english and half talking in spanish. So I've saved the most challenging aspect of Concepcion for last: my family. Silvia, the mom, is an accountant that works at the University and Roberto, the dad, is a business teacher. There are two sons, Christian and Maricio, who are 28 ...

Concepcion, Chile snowflake... was meant to meet up with bailed on him (i would too if i were them) so he was too annoyed to go out, Linz´s cough (yes cough, not cold, not flu...cough) was apparently so bad he didn't want to go out either so i got stuck in party town with no partyers. All this heartache was made up for three fold the next day when we visited our first football match. It was the second last game of the season and if the leaders (Colo Colo) won then they ...
Concepcion, Chile sauso... of the shops and restaurants that I frequented! Now I am going out with the sisters and again cousin Vanessa. So life is very full right now! I am loving being here. like I said, it feels so familiar and so comfortable...which is really nice after so many months of new places and people. I am heading to Buenos Aires on Tuesday and its looking like I will spend some significant time there in Argentina and hopefully in Brazil too.
