... looked like loads of rain had fallen overnight in
Rijeka and to what I can see here in Slovenia they have had loads of rain also
as the whole place was in flood. Roads and power lines were simply running
across lakes of water. Within the first few miles into the country I must have
seen about 6 landslides.
The road i took was simply mountain pass after mountain pass and was just

Today we farewell Salzburg! Our plans were clear and simple. Leave our hotel by taxi to train station. Catch train at 10.12am to Villach . Once in Villach alight and take the bus to Venice. Simple! Not so simple if you miss the name of the station you are supposed to get off and just sit there chatting! Dam just a short run from base and we passed some amazing waterfalls and arrived with not another person around - not a bad thing to be alone when you are stood on a glass platform at 200m. Back into Gmund for a look around the Porche Museum and town, quick bite to eat with a rather indulgent Iced Coffee.

Attempted the 35 km long Nochalmstrasse but the Austrian rain
had other ideas and mother nature sneaked in a rather chilly 2 Deg and at 2042 m high that is cold so back to Hochalmspitze for a chill.

Grossglockner High Alpine Road - AKA Big Bell ! Smooth open road, hairpins,
climbs and sweepers = happy. At the top the views are mainly CLOUD but
grab a Hot Chocolate and see how things develop, quick chat and then we
are off down the other side with a quick turnaround back up and over to
