We got an unexpected surprise when we reached Fethiye. We got to our hostel and when to the terrace bar for a drink, overlooking the bay. Within a minute of sitting down and ordering a drink, I looked over the rail and sore our 2 friends from Canberra who we did our tour of Egypt with! We knew they were in turkey but we were planning on catching up in Istanbul. It was a happy accident that we bumped into them about 1200 kilometers away! We had ...

... it becomes apparent that it's not so clear cut. We know from our waypoint that we are very close to the destination but it is only by complete coincidence that we stop outside a restaurant to check for directions that we have actually landed at the right spot.

So our little Kaya stone cottage - set in the shallow valley of Kayakoy - will be home for the next five days. We are surrounded by little fields, set against low ...

... the gorge with indelible mud ink. We managed to claw our way up several very tricky spots along the path, but in the end were defeated by a rope climb up the side of a water worn and slick rock that offered no support.

Last but certainly not least, we went back over to Ölüdeniz to enjoy the beautiful beach during the closing hours of the day. Uncle Albert decided that it was just a beach and so sat on the curb (vs. renting a ...
