We know that we will be glad that MJ has persisted with writing these blogs, but sometimes they are difficult to write. Surprisingly, this is one of them!

As we have previously mentioned, we were able to get a 7-night trip to Antalya in Turkey for the princely sum of €99 each. That cost would cover our flights from Munich and back, seven nights accommodation and breakfast every morning. Antalya – here we come!

... It seemed like there were watering stations (for both people and pets) every other block. We did a ton of wandering around, but the weather has been rainy and we've had some very wet walks as well. I think the saying goes "when in Rome...", but had to apply it in Antayla and take advantage of a 400 year old Turkish bath (Hamam). ... a lighthouse. From there we got great views across the Gulf of Antalya but unfortunately the mountains were covered with clouds. Then on to the lovely crescent shaped harbour with it's mix of old fishing boats, tourist boats, and modern yachts. Up the hill through the souvenir shops we walked to the Yivli Minare Mosque which was built in the13th century. It has an elegant fluted minaret and is the towns symbol.

... taking a pretty long and leisurely river cruise down then Manavgat river that joins together to the Mediterranean Sea. It's a pity that it was too cold else think swimming is usually done. But from the thin stretch of "beach" could touch the nice icy water. Though honestly without the sea part the cruise was really so unscenic! Both banks were like dry and bare.

I decided to split these from the overall Antalya experience because they were extras that required a bit more traveling & a bit more adventuring, but they were both awesome!
