    ... the 'Plus’ we seem to have a deluxe room with separate lounge and huge bed and balcony and great view. It is nice to get the good stuff some times. Dinner here (which is included) also received an A+, Only negative is that we are really close to a mosque and so will be awaken at 8 am by the call for prayer. I like the Italian church bells better - but when in Rome.....

    ... which was abandoned in 1923 during a population swap between Greece and Turkey. The buildings had been damaged in an earthquake in the fifties, but it was a very eerie sight seeing this whole town empty. We finally got to Faralya quite late after missing our bus stop and having to wait for the bus to start the route back.     ... one of the highlights of the tour - the best preserved Roman theatre in the world. It is bloody incredible. It dates from161 AD. Ataturk was instrumental in restoring it to its present state and it is now regularly used to stage Operas. It can seat 20,000 people - the acoustics are perfect and the opera festival is currently in full swing.
