... and discovered our travels would be taking us eventually to Santiago. The daughter and son-in-law live in Santiago and wrote down several important sights for us to see, as well as restaurant suggestions. He also gave us his cell phone number and email in case we needed help………again, such wonderful, kind people.

... Site and has regained it's pride happily.

I am still with the same group as I was in Pucon. We stay in the same hostels, we site see together and cook amazing food. Last night I ate fish with roasted vegables and steamed broccoli. The night before Miluo baked a cake. It's a great dynamic and I'm enjoying the company. We swam in the sea a couple of days ago, if you can call running in and immediately running back out swimming!

... us up the hills to the Concepcion area. My goodness, talk about restaurants! Fantastic food at silly prices (about 7 euros for a three course meal including a pisco sour) cannot be ignored. We have been back to the Hotel Brighton twice and today pushed out the boat and went to La Concepcion. The lamb dish I had here was probably the nicest food I have ever tasted.

... the Pebre salsa we made earlier. A great empanada but god only knows how were supposed to eat all this food, full already! The main course was pastel de choclo, a type of corn pie. It has chicken fillet in the bottom and some of the beef from the empañada in the middle and the top was made of sweetcorn blended with milk and basil then cooked until it thickened and then spread on top to be baked in the oven, it is traditionally served in separate ceramic pots ...
