... by was the departure screens which showed the Stansted flight leaving at 4:10pm and an airport announcement that passengers would be able to check in for the flight at 2pm, information which turned out to be hopelessly erroneous. The check-in for the Ryanair flight 231 was not until 3:30pm and the flight did not take off until 5:30pm - more than seven hours delayed, leaving passengers grumbling over the lack of information and assistance, swearing it was the last time they would fly Ryanair.

We went into hysterics because we had to wait for the airport bus for almost 45 minutes, when in theory it passes every 15 minutes. We arrived at the airport right when our flight is boarding. ... down the cliff (a mix of pathways and 600 steps) to a beautiful cave perched just a few feet above the ocean. We hiked down to the cave (easy) and explored it before hiking back up (HARD!) This was an extremely scenic area and we really liked it. However, our legs were really sore for two days after climbing the 600+ steps. ... It was very charming with a strong Spanish influence. Sardinia has a rich and violent history and was for a long time occupied by Spain so many of the ruins and castles remaining have a Spanish style to them. We set off the next morning for our overnight sail to Menorca. So we said arrivederci to Italy and headed back to Spanish waters.

Two English girls we met at our B&amp;B headed out to a winery nearby and said everything was delicous....but again, the beach needed us too much for us to give up a day to a winery. Especially when the wine could come to us. And that's Alghero! We were sad to leave, even sadder when we stepped off the plane to the tan-sapping cold of London. But, strangely, relieved to be back. It's really starting to feel like a second home here now :-) xx

Waar we liggen bij het strand is Bosa Marina een stukje Bosa wat pas sinds kort ontwikkeld is tot een gewild strand met alles er op en er aan, gelukkig zijn de hoge flatgebouwen achterwege gebleven. Twee kilometer verder ligt Bosa, geplakt tegen de bergen bekroond met een groot kasteel (Castello Malaspola) en door de stad stroomt de rivier de Fiume Temo. De volgende dag brengen ...
