... had theatre tickets, reusable and made of clay. Side had a very touristy atmosphere and yet more roman ruins, only just being restored. The sea views and what they call beaches, the lanes full of shops and restaurants, and yes, some lovely pistachio ice cream... On our return, we were ready for another swim. Another 5 hours of driving brought us to the Turkish coast and the city of Anatolya. We had to go over the Taurus Mountain range, which looks surprisingly similar to heading to Squaw - lots of rocks and fir trees. The only difference was that every now and then we would see tents with herders and their goats. Other than that, the highway was quite well built and maintained.

... homestay, Katja's house. She owns a laundry and has a few spare rooms upsatirs. Only problem was she didn't open till 10am. It was currently 8am. We struggled on through the winding streets of the old town, along the cobbled floor and in amongst the ruins of hadrians gate.
