      Mammola day 2

... on our travels someone telling us that when dealing with Italian bureaucracy it takes so long as they tell you to keep coming back "next week"!! We got photos of the mammals flag and outside the window into the Piazza. He then described Carmen de Patagones Argentina where many Mammolese people had settled. It was only later when I wasgoing through the booklets that I saw his title and googled it. He was the Mayor of the town!! We ...

After a good sleep but on a very firm mattress we went to brekkie 8.30am. Antonio had a fruit pastry tart with coffee and I had tea. Again it was humorous to watch the idea of tea with milk being understood. That was our brekkie! Amazing. However after last nights meal we were so full anyway. We planned to head to the mountains in front of our accommodation after a walk around town to find Aunty Lisa's house. We followed our google map up very narrow, steep streets ...

Our next stop was a B&B at Le Canella Constrada Fratte II. Google maps said 4hrs 54mins and they weren't wrong. We lost some time trying to get on the right road then our journey took us through all the towns along the coast. It was like the Pacific highway 20 years ago. The seaside towns weren't as we imagined. They were very ancient and everyone has a siesta at 1pm. When we arrived near Le Canella we took a wrong turn which we thought was right and headed up into the hills. ...

... signage is not clearly understandable and sometimes there isn't any. We found a large car park in the lower part of town and stopped for photos. We did abit of shopping and enjoyed a self serve lunch at the local supermarket- Conad. The girl smiled at my salad which I later realised was so puny compared to the 2-4 plate loads of food other customers were getting. Back to the hotel we went tired and ready for a swim. That night we had booked with Angela our ...

... the shuttle bus stopped to pick us up!! That afternoon after a siesta we sauntered down to the pool for an cool drink. Don noticed the couple next to us had an Aussie accent. Sure enough Sue and Mal came from Yaroomba near Coolum only 20 mins from our home on the Sunshine Coast. It was so good to chat to other English speaking people! They had been sailing around Sicily and were in at B&B nearby. We were the only 2 couples in the restaurant and ...
