... And now, I was standing in turkish territory! My entering to the country was rather funny, as i had to leave my backpack and passport in the border and ilegally walk inside to look for some atm, get some change and come back to pay for my visa. ... to get back to our room.  Our room was so tiny, we both couldn't move far and had to walk on the bed to get past each other, the bathroom door wasn't a door but a shower curtain, the reception had a bird in a cage which we could hear talking and squawking until midnight and people also smoked in the reception and bar areas so it was always smokey throughout the whole hotel. ... just wasn't going to cut the mustard.

Anyway, several hasty mobile phone calls later to our now in the bad books travel agent and it was sorted. Well almost. Plan B was we now fly to Hong Kong (no change from Plan A), collect our luggage (Plan A had it booked through to Izmir), then attend the Turkish Airline counter at Hong Kong airport and have our new tickets re-issued (more Plan B).
