So this morning we left Antalya of which I got to see very little. Sleeping on the bus is very exhausting and I was too tired to do the walk around the city! It was a very nice hotel though and a big room and a lovely meal with some nice local wine.

First stop today was Aspendos, where the largest best preseverved roman amphitheatre is located. It is very impressive. There has been some reconstruction and they do ...

Mountainous passes are par for the course by now but back in the car the hail and flooded roads made for interesting travelling. Much further north east and we haven't managed to outrun the rain though it's lighter now. Hopefully it won't follow us all the way to Capadoccia. We outran ...

A stop in a hand carved pipe shop led to the discovery of a strange tradition of carving Karma Sutra like scenes into the white pipe stone. I ended up walking away with a beautiful device that the Turks use to make their famous coffee as my ...

It's raining, but at least the rain's warm! Before it started we walked around a bit and realised that the hotel isn't in Antalya at all, it's on the coast where the road turns inland to go over the mountains to Cappadocia, a place called Alara and in fact is over half way to Alanya, which is where we stayed when we first came to Turkey some 40 years ago. I think it's changed a ...

Barely hit the ground and it's been amazing. Yesterday went to Alayna and visited an 11th Century castle on a high rocky area surrounded on 3 sides by the Mediterranean Sea. Pretty cool. Fellowship with my friends has been the best. Some great convos just being together. Living life as it is. Hearing stories about living in a foreign land. Listening to dreams and just hanging out. Simply ...
