... it, and then it decided to take us through a tiny mountain village where the roads were so narrow we barely had a couple of inches on either side of the car !! So all in all some exciting moments, but the best bit about the trip was the scenery yet again - breathtaking ...

... is still a big hotel at the top of the hill with amazing 180 degree views of the coast - but it is now completely derelict. We air wheeled up there to explore and it's a real shame that it is no longer used as it is in a fantastic location - and apparently it used to have a swimming pool on the roof too ! We were also lucky to have another nice sunset down on the beach so yet more sunset photies coming up ...

So - having left Puglia, we have now headed over to the other side of Italy (about where the shoe laces are :) ) to a lovely apartment in a village on a hill above San Nicola Arcella in Calabria. ... but two days was enough, it's not close enough to the coast and if you haven't a car then you are really quite restricted with what you can see and do. It was very kind of our hosts to act as our chauffeurs, but we paid them for it. It wasn't exactly a free service, although we didn't have to pay nearly the same as a specified taxi service.
