... buggered off and there's no one around. Tonight we are going back to Don Pablo gourmet restaurant as it's our last night. We've got to pack as well because we have to have checked out by 9.30 - our boat for the mainland leaves at 10. It's going to be a very long today tomorrow. We're due back in Manchester on Tuesday morning at 6. I'll add some more photos now. See you soon - we hope the weather gets a bit better in the UK ready for our return. It looks awful! Love Julie and Simon ...

Hello! Sorry we haven't written for a few days but our internet signal has been almost non-existent so we haven't been able to post anything. Under our door they posted a warning about Tropical Storm Bertha which ...

... music never stops and there is almost no formal seating for free. But it was fun!

I spent the rest of the week doing more of the same, abandoning the Las Terrenas idea. The mood of Las Galeras was so chill and the thought of another four hours of transfers was deterring me. So I moved to the property next door and spent another three nights there. The property next door, Los Coloniales, was owned by a 68 year old French man with ...

Samana, Dominican Republic

... as we had purchased a tour. The tour was called "Cultural Highlights of Samana."

The documents warned of a long tender ride, pollution and poverty. I didn't think the tender was that long, taking only about 15 minutes. The other two were dead on. When we got off the tender on to the Samana dock the pollution stared us in the face. The water in the bay is filthy. There is no other word to describe it. The clarity was maybe a foot, and garbage floated ...
