I will add some photos to show you some bits of the resort that we hadn't told you about. The public beach is really nice - we have had some nice walks on there both at night and during sunset. Hello! Sorry we haven't written for a few days but our internet signal has been almost non-existent so we haven't been able to post anything. Well yesterday (Saturday) was a funny old day. We were meant to be going on a trip to the national park but Simon had poo problems during the night and he wasn't feeling well so we decided to postpone it until Wednesday. We didn't do that much during the day as I didn't like to leave Simon on his own but by the evening he was starting to feel better so we ordered some room service. ... Dominican wife and their 3 and 8 year old children (impressive!). The grounds were more open and country style with one small and one large bungalow behind the main house. It was very quiet and relaxing, almost urging me to stay put. ... as we had purchased a tour. The tour was called "Cultural Highlights of Samana."

The documents warned of a long tender ride, pollution and poverty. I didn't think the tender was that long, taking only about 15 minutes. The other two were dead on. When we got off the tender on to the Samana dock the pollution stared us in the face. The water in the bay is filthy. There is no other word to describe it.
