"Yes, shopping!" - "Nein, lass uns in Ruh"

A travel blog entry by judith_michi on Mar 22, 2014

... of little shops and stalls that sell ****, clothes and fake stuff and all shouted as us: "yes, shopping!!" If I wanted to go shopping I would come into your shop even without you shouting at me. At a stretch of 50 metres we heard this 50 times which is at least 49 times too often. One could not even walk two metres in peace as every single taxi diver honked at us, looking for a fare. Legian was instantly annoying us and we felt stressed out. Additionally, ...

We decide to visit Seminyak today and check out the few places recommended there. I map it and apparently it's only a short stroll along the beach and we are there. ... as Australians call them - in order to show off their steroid-enlarged guns. Vajiralongkorn and Sirindhorn will no doubt shudder at the memory of their type from our time at the Shiralea resort on Ko Pha Ngan, ringing the bar bell at 9 in the morning to order in a round of shots and so on. Bali to Australians is essentially what Magaluf is to the English. Despite the bogan presence, I was mistaken to think that Bali would be full of the 'wrong' type of tourist, as all sorts ...

Welcome to Bali.....Relax

... summarised our feelings perfectly with the line " Welcome to Bali, relax" and so we did!

We watched the sunset and downed a few beers before walking a few bars along where we sat on bean bags and ordered a pizza.

The next day we got up late and decided to have a walk to Seminyak which was up a km or two up the beach. Seminyak still has a rugged edge to it but it’s certainly where you’d stay if you’re worth a quid or two. ...
