A travel blog entry by famlitz on Oct 26, 2015

Blue skies, no clouds and three mosquito bites. What a way to wake up. But I would rather wake up to a mosquito bite than being bitten by a scorpion. We killed a second one last night. Not quite an animal you want to have closer contact with. Karsten made menemen for breakfast and we were indecisive what we wanted to do. First we ...

October 10. We are heading to Turkey. Unlike our other travel days, we don't need to be up early as our flight to Athens and then onto Istanbul is not leaving until late morning. All is well...we and our luggage are checked through all the way to Turkey so we only have to go through a passport control and security in the Athens airport. Our flight to Istanbul is on ...

October 7. Off we go a'wandering along the streets of the Medieval Town. This site covers a large area near the waterfront in Rodos (Rhodes Town) and we cover just a small portion of it. We find some lovely green spaces. There is a moat that surrounds the city and was the scene of many battles over the years. War is not a new phenomenon; over the years, many lives were lost in what is now a very ...
