Evening looms early ..4:30 pm and daylight is gone. Time to head up to the "Terrace" at Hotel Stein on the riverbank...once again for the view and the ambiance.. a few farewell drinks to the wonderful Salzburg and her picture perfect sunny day.. but wait.. come 7pm and yay, it's snowing again.. Back on the train for a 2:45 hour trip to Salzburg..approx 290 kms south/ west of Vienna..thank heavens for the heated compartments again as the temp dropped to minus seven! Once again as day dawned the snow showed it's thickness.. and did not let up in Salzburg all day. The usual wander/ amble to the chosen accommodation was replaced by taxi....

... When we came out of the café, it had cleared up partially and the sun was shining. It was ideal as we finished the last part of our walking tour which took us past yet some more great viewpoints over the town and the lake. We walked back to the parking lot soon after as it was nearing sunset and we still had about half an hour to drive to get to our campsite by Wolfgangsee.
