... Fortunately the old city was spared WWII bombing by the Allies (not so for the rest of the area). Our trip from Bled was interesting. Turns out there was railroad track maintenance being done, so the train wasn't operating from Bled. (Would have been helpful if we had been able to read Slovenian notice posted on a board at the station, which was closed). ... As I finished my very fluffy but enjoyable Bridget Jones book back in Vienna I was in the market for as new book. As luck would have it I found a store that had a small english section and much to Ryan's annoyance spent an excessive amount of time picking my next fluffy book. Hitler didn't actually like the place much so there wasn't heaps of history but the 360 views were amazing and I did a little exploring in the rocks. Not too cold as I was still in shorts, but very pleasant.

Onto Munich where the hotel is 4 star, a bit ...

... I've ever seen! I am getting very good a keeping my mouth shut!

We finally spotted Gasthof Lederer way up the hill and we were not disappointed! Right outside my window was a massive snow capped mountain with a babbling brook gushing past! Music to my ears! We unpacked , showered and went down to the restaurant for diner. The food was terriffic, the beer was cold, and the view was to die for! Our hosts gave us a "Hochkonig Card" which allowed us free ride up ...
