Steep, narrow, winding roads to a castle

The views from the top are absolutely breathtaking! You can almost see 360 degrees from the highest point, and at another high point (the trail splits and you can go where we did or another way) - according to Philip, we were too knackered to find out for ourselves - you can see the rest of the obstructed view, and some significant overlap with the view we were enjoying.

The last divided capital city
... the "Green Line", the UN buffer zone, between the countries with it's abandoned buildings lying in ruins. Sadly one is not allowed to enter or take pictures of course.
So the "Turkish" Part: quite poor, very busy with tourists and touristy market stalls that sell fake brand items, but with a much more interesting atmosphere than southern Nicosia.

We had a walk around Nicosia with the parents, a light lunch of salad sandwiches in the park and then followed the route along the wall, stopping off to look at the damaged buildings and also the buildings left empty and decaying. There appeared to be some development, particularly on the Greek side, however the Turkish side was still very much deserted and decaying.
