Yesterday we arrived in a very sleepy little town by the edge of another large lake. Our aim was to catch a boat cruise down to the coast, see some turtles and return to Koycegiz. The waterfront and boardwalks have a great ambience and are full of great 'turkish style' open-air restaurants.


For us these Turkish Riviera Resorts are a real 'find' and match any in the rest of Europe .. they are beautiful.

We met our driver who appeared to be fairly new to the task of driving. Staying on the right side of the road was a challenge. But a great guy with perfect English. ... contain very ornate tombs carved into the stone walls. These are Hellenistic in style and look very similar to Petra. Wealthy people and royalty were buried in such tombs. The Dalyan River is not so deep and meanders amidst the bullrushes. It is very peaceful.
