Not only was it closer we found ourselves exiting the subway at the ancient city wall the Porta Pinciana and the famous Via Veneto. We have been here for days and had no idea that we had been using the long route to the subway, nor did we know we were living three blocks from one of the most famous streets in Rome.

This morning Ken went to Complesso del Vittroiano to a Cubist exhibition and I went shopping. I managed to find a pair of boots for myself and a pair for Talia. Will have to go back tomorrow or Larissa will miss out! I gave myself plenty of time to get home, but Ken still beat me as I got lost again. Rome is a church-heavy city. Although they can look quite ordinary from the outside, almost every one I peeked into contained a beautiful painting or fresco and impressive statues. I also enjoyed the peace they offered from the crowds and traffic outside.

We had some good meals in Rome. Our favorite was at Dolce Vita on Piazza Navona. The restaurant promised authentic Roman cooking and the pastas, and even pizza's, ...
