We are in Virginia, at the beautiful and historical Clifton Inn. We came here on a recommendation from Tom, the other boss of Mike. There is a lovely infinity pool with an intercom that lets you order beer and other assorted treats, so we had a nice swim and a lounge. She took me in with no notice and saved the remainder of my trip. I taught her how to poach eggs. Not really a fair trade, but there are years to go yet!

Barboursville Winery and The Barbeque Exchange
... few minutes from Wolftrap Farm. Lunch was in an outdoor cafe - a pulled pork sandwich and an avocado chicken panini. Yum. We stopped in the Barbecue Exchange to pickup menus for the crowd at home. Fancy window drapery framed most windows; inspiration for my 8 big picture windows at home! Wolftrap Farm and Charlottesville
Woke up to the sound of horses and birds singing. The long road to the farm has a serious hill that gave both Steve and I a super-morning workout. We started exploring the grounds and Ron snapped a photo of the biggest snapping turtle we've ever seen. Decided not to try swimming in the pond but the cane poles are tempting.
