still in NY

New York

... Lots of traffic so it took us ages! Once there we went to Parker and Sandra's house then went out for dinner. I had surf and turf...my first one! Very nice and a Long Island Iced Tea... when in Rome... after dinner I headed to Maurice's nephews place who was going to lend me his couch which was nice of him. Another crazy moving around, meeting new people day! Staying on Long Island in an area called Bay Shore.

The trouble with doing nothing

... self-professed "entrepreneur". I'm thinking he was just unemployed. He entertained us with his ideas on economics to free love. When he found out that we were from Alaska, he started on another topic. Evidently, he said, he was in a discussion with another friend about the location of the state of Alaska. He wanted to see a map. When I said Alaska was to the left of Canada, he said, "Ah ha! I knew it! I was always good at geology!" After ...

WELCOME HOME PAUL

YES I AM BACK AND HAPPY AT THAT ....EXCEPT FOR THE JET LAG I AM FACING RIGHT NOW ... THERE IS A LOT TO TAKE IN FROM WHAT HAS HAPPEN IN THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS, AND ALL I CAN SAY IS THAT IT WAS SUCH A RELIFE TO TOUCH DOWN AT JFK AND KNOW THAT I WILL BE ABLE TO SLEEP IN MY BED AND HAVE MY NORMAL THINGS AROUND ME TO DO AS LIVING OUT OF A BAG FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS IS TIREDSOME AND GETS ANNOYING TO SAY THE LEAST ...

13 juillet

13 juillet - A long day from MOMA to the Empire State Building Aujourd'hui, décollage assez matinal, parce qu'on se rend compte qu'on a encore mille choses que l'on rêve de voir et, que, comme on a pas trop envie de faire de concessions (même si on sera obligé d'en faire) on va profiter de nos jours restant à fond ! Donc cap sur Times Square d ...

... made absolutely no sense, but that's art! The day had cleared, so we decided to give the Empire State Building another go. We found a subway station after wandering the streets for a while, and convinced ourselves we were on the right platform - this was a single line, so if we were on the wrong platform, it seemed to be that you would have to go right out and in another entrance, and pay another fee. At $2 a ride, not a good ...

Back to Admiralty Bay

... West Cay. Motored to Admiralty Bay. Anchored near a rusted stell-hull who we had followed for the last few days. When Pas, Mum, and Sue went ashore to buy provisions, Paul and I watched rusty boat change anchorages about five times. MPS were gone for about three hours. Late enough in pm we decided to stay the night. Paul and I went ashore, wandered around. Had cake.

to Friendship Bay

Partly cloudy, windy. Woke early and sat on deck. Shrank below when saw approaching aquatic vendors. French toast breakfast. Jewelry and lobster vendors visited. All went ashore to visit Port Elizabeth. Small town. Little kids at dock offered to watch dinghy for a small fee. Rejected offer. Wandered around town, peering into shops. Wrecked ship, truck cab on beach. Goats in street. Changed money. Dinghied to bakery/pizzeria for bread ...
