Trip safe with 1h of delay from London. Security check at JFK was quick, not like what they show on TV. So far, we met few Americans (most of them from Mexico) whose helped us out from airport to guesthouse. Really good feeling about the neighbourhood. Took a taxi for 10 blocks because of our heavy bags. We will definitely pack lighter for SA!!!! With 30 degrees, we will swim in T shirt ...

Yesterday, we admired Manhattan from the water, today, we looked at it from above. Visiting the Empire State Building has been one of Alan's ambitions since he was a young boy in Hong Kong when he borrowed a book about New York City from the HK City Library, which incidentally looked like a small version of the UN building.
