... and safety the entire top floor and towers were removed which is a shame, they have done quite a lot of restoration since but it's a shame how much of it was lost.

... So Carrie spends her time at the tiller and I get to do the locks, there weren't many and they were quite spread out so wasn't as tiring as the Wolverhampton locks.

At the Radford Bank we ate at a carvery where I feel that after my half roast chicken, sausage, gammon and beef with chips, potatoes, carrots and 3 yorkshires, that maybe the banana split was a little too much. But this canalling does build up your appetite.

... The thought came to Mary, " I wonder is my great great grand parents are buried here as well. There was a funeral in progress so the record keeper was in his office. Mary recalled his name was Barry (she can't remember my favourite beer) and he was able to find their records. ... tasty duck while Carrie had some more fish.

So with some very tasty food inside us we found a few more owls before settling down for the night.

The next day was an epic walk round Birmingham searching for owls. Including the ones we found earlier we managed to find a total of 45 owls out of 90 plus for of the collections done by local schools. The walk took us through the main squares, Chamberlain, Victoria and Centenary, ...

... input the location of our nightly stop on his TomTom. For some reason it doesn't recognise the village. Bit of head scratching later it turns out he only has UK and Ireland on his Sat Nav!! It could only happen to Paul!

We are in France! Caught an earlier train, so just having a baguette near Tunnel. Further update later....
