... br> Had just passed through Fortaleza previously so, given the
long wait for my 8pm flight, decided to venture into town and spend the last of
my reals at the central market and enjoy a couple of the sights.

It was tough to even find left luggage – the one sign
pointed right – it’s reverse side also pointed right (the ...

... at about 10am. Luckily for us the hostel was not at full capacity so Jamily (young Brazilian girl who owns the hostel with her husband, Alex) let us have breakfast and check into our rooms early so we could have a nap. Ideal! We were in Fortaleza for 3 whole days and we just minced around really. We had great fun at the laundrette washing our Amazon clothes as they were fairly stinky. We went out for dinner one night and walked all the way along ...

New place new friends. Fortaleza was cool because right when I got there we went out. Some Chileans brought a big bottle of pisco and before you know it we all were riding happy on the way to pink elephant. It's a popular expensive night club they have here in Brazil. My prognostication of today's results was to build on my 100% record after the first set of matches
yesterday but little did I know the trials and tribulations my picks would put me through. The game in the Fortaleza furnace was foreshadowed by Van Gaal the Dutch Coach suggesting that his players might start hallucinating if they didn’t get water breaks. Lo and behold for the first time ever, water breaks were "de rigeur" for the first time in a WC Finals game. ...

... of room to sit. After exploring a little bit around the local area we'd found a small pretty deserted beach, a slightly busier stretch of beach and then the fan park. Most of the people around were German supporters (not surprising as Germany were based pretty much in the north east and it was a Germany game in Fortaleza that day) with the odd Ghanaian thrown in creating some atmosphere. A bit of food and we were ready to get to the game. One thing about ...
