Mosquitos and scorpions

A travel blog entry by famlitz on Oct 26, 2015

Blue skies, no clouds and three mosquito bites. What a way to wake up. But I would rather wake up to a mosquito bite than being bitten by a scorpion. We killed a second one last night. Not quite an animal you want to have closer contact with. Karsten made menemen for breakfast and we were indecisive what we wanted to do. First we ...

... good and I resisted. I also saw a car crash where the two people got out their cars shouted at each other then got back in and drove off. There seem to be no car parks here or parking tickets as zebra crossings, corners, roundabouts and pavements are a free for all. I went into the archaeological centre and me at six euro it was steal. The real fun begins when we arrive in Istanbul, a city of 20 million people. The airport is packed with people coming in from all sorts of destinations. We need to go through passport control and end up in a queue reminiscent of a Disneyworld line. But there is no thrilling ride at the end - just ...

You Haven't Been to Rhodes Unless You Go to Lindos

... our radar. So it is dinner in the hotel dining room and an after dinner amble through yet more streets near the hotel.

October 8. We are off to Lindos by bus. Our Transat rep told us that Lindos was worth the visit and that we would be about two hours on the bus getting there. He was right about the first and wrong about the second. We arrive in one hour and begin our explore of the ...
