Today we decided we would go back downtown. We parked for free in the Oprey Mill car park. ( this is the huge complex where we were yesterday..we know our way there more or less, (the car parks are bigger to do u turns in) and caught a bus from there downtown. As we are seniors we had half price tickets....good for our budget! It was really warm and humid but we wanted to do the Ryman tour. At least in the buildings there is air conditioning. I thought ...

As I set down to write this blog it is 11.15 at night, having been to a show at Grand Ole OPRY. This morning we left for Opryland/ Music Valley, on arriving we went to buy tickets for the show, and all that was left was standing only tickets!! So we went for them, at the same time we got tickets for the back stage tour. The building, the new home of the OPRY, it was great and very informative, we saw most of the dressing rooms and got to stand on the circle ...

We had a short drive from Murfreesboro where we stayed last night to Nashville. We are staying three nights here until we leave for Memphis. The town was bigger than we expected, with skyscrapers which we were not expecting to see. Obviously over the last 20 ...

... I now know why they call the Mississippi "Big Muddy".  They've definitely had some flooding recently.  Every river was over the banks and in the corn fields. After we checked in to our room, we scoped out the hotel guest laundry and pool and went a few doors down the street for dinner.  Unfortunately, the hotel's "Hot Breakfast" consisted of oatmeal and "Instant" grits.  Tomorrow we're eating at the Shoney's right next door. After breakfast, it was off ...

Hit the BP station in Metropolis, IL randomly and the boys were excited to find out that it's Superman's hometown. Even the gas station had these sweet cutouts to pose with. They want to collect stickers from all of the states as we travel so we were able to get a fun one. As we travel further south the people seem to get more polite. Less fashionable perhaps but definitely kinder and more considerate. Made it to Kentucky!!! ...
