Lakes District
Had a big sleep. Was going to do a short walk but when we were about to start the rain came pouring in. Arun and I decided to stay at the hostel while Pete went around Rydal and Grasmere. (Although called the Lakes District, the area only has one "lake" — Brassenthwaite.) We had pumpkin soup and a sandwich for lunch when the weather improved. Took a short walk to Grasmere for some photos. There was snow on the hill-peaks but was not too cold. Peter ...
Stratford-upon-Avon and the Lakes
... was being freshly carved in front of us, and tasted and was as crispy as Auntie Fong's. Began long drive to Grasmere. Started raining. Stopped briefly for petrol at Newcastle Under Lyme. Saw Aston Villa FC's stadium and Birmingham city centre from the motorway, as well as the lights of Manchester and Liverpool. Had a very good Pad Thai for dinner. Saw the new James Bond at the local ...
Morning of NY

We parked up and caught a taxi into town, keen to have a look around and to get out of there. We are driving along talking to the taxi driver, who was very helpful, and we go passed Blackpool Football stadium. I ask him when their next game is and he replies there's a game tonight, so we decide to jump out there and go in ...
One last spin in the lakes

This village sits on Coniston Lake, which has been the site of some history. Back in the 1930's through the 60's, a father and son duo broke the world speed record on water at this lake. It is the longest straightest, deepest, unobstructed body of water in the Lake District, which made it the perfect choice for speed. First, in the late ...
