... if I am lucky! I reckon with 8 months of hard work I can fund my travels around Australia, and my return via China, India and Egypt. Unless I change the plan of course, or stay in places that only have bars and beds!
So yeah, I have largely been spending my daytimes researching and applying for jobs, and yearning for some company at night. No, I don't mean sexual company - that would end up being a spectator sport for 9 people in the dorm anyway. I mean just company ...
Wow only two weeks until the most incredible trip of my life!!! i'm so excited with a good measure of terrified mixed in! worry about having enough money, whether we've decided on the right hotels, whether those hotels actually exist! worrying whether im going to become the fussiest eater ever and eat my way around the world on dry bread (wholegrain ofcourse!)!! which would be sad because come on pasta, pizza, chocolate, and every other delicious, artery blocking ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia emmylou13Another week has passed by, not that much has changed to be honest. I was able to keep my results up, regularly making one sale a day on average which has already made me part of the core of our team. Wednesday should have been great, it was my birthday! Thanks for all your wishes!! It didn't feel like my birthday though because it was actually the weirdest day I had since I’ve been here. It all ...

... We had plenty of catch up chat that night, it almost felt that we were all back at home. It was a bit of a double take to think that we were on the other side of the world and hadn't seen each other for around 16 months.
We spent the next two days exploring Melbourne, getting round on the trams. We went to the National Gallery of Victoria, checked out the library with Ned Kelly's Armour and went to some cool places for lunch. Phil and Jen had booked us to head with them on ...
... country. Right across the street from my hostel was an Anglican church and I was immediately welcomed and felt comfortable to join their Easter service. I even stayed for tea afterward and chatted with the vicar and several of the church members - lovely! I then used the rest of the sunny afternoon to start exploring, and walked down to Queen Victoria Market. This is a huge indoor/outdoor market over several city blocks with over 1,000 stalls and vendors. There's a ...

Melbourne, Victoria, Australia reversemerger... gastro this morning, and asked God to fix it so I could work properly, which He did. Within an hour I was feeling fine. I have consistently gotten lost going to schools all week, so I asked God to help me get to the school this morning, and I ended up driving straight there with no problems at all. I am now living with a friend and her two uni-student lodgers in Melbourne, who I didn't know were Christians before I arrived, but last night over takeaway pizza, they stopped to say grace ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia wherever... to South East Asia - step one: get a room. After having visited up to four places per day (all kinds of holes and one really nice house) we ended up taking a room in a sharehouse only 5 minutes from the centre by train or 20 minutes by foot. The house is ok, a backpacker sharehouse for 5-6 people where flatmates often stay for a few weeks, maybe a month and then continue their travels. In the end of our stay we counted we'd had more than 20 flatmates over three months! Mission ...
Melbourne, Victoria, Australia johannajulien... station (sounded good). And set off on foot (BTW I was staying in St. Kilda, if that wasn't obvious). Anyways, I asked a local and got rough directions to the location of the hostel and kept walking. 40 minutes later I figured I had amde a mistake, but being the male that I am, had not asked for directions, even though I was carrying a 40 pound pack on my back. So i finally showed up to my hostel after a little help, and a lot of ...
