We had a lovely three days on the island - we got through a lot of books and went snorkelling a grand total of five times, I think the fish were starting to recognise us. It was hard leaving when the beach looked so inviting but the prices of everything on the island compared to the mainland made it a little easier to say goodbye. Definitely worth the trip ...

... god who knows what. Eventually he found the missing passenger and we continued away from Penang (the island). This took us almost 1,5 hours just to leave the island and we were on a schedule for our boat to Koh Lanta.

The story got worse after this because on the highway he found another minivan and just began talking to each other on the highway speeding like a maniac. After some minutes he decides it is dangerous and just stops the car on the highway and have ...

... is the oldest city in Thailand. It was once the capital and consequently is full of ruins. It is stunning, the stuff of story books. The kids were blown away by the scenery. We hired bicycles and peddled around the amazing sights. Trying to take in the history of it. The heat was beating down so we decided to take a break and get some cold refreshments and who should we bump into but Callum, Ba's half brother and his girlfriend Sarah. They had checked into the same ...
