... reminded me more of the Blanco River in the Texas Hill Country. Of course it was gorgeous and we stopped a few places to take pics.
Then we drove back into crazy Gatlinburg. What a contrast. Now remember it is Saturday. And Gatlinburg’s traffic makes Houston look pretty calm. We couldn’t wait to get back to the hotel so we could park our car. ...
... university’s football stadium is undergoing construction and this one was no exception. We were having a difficult time getting to the stadium and ended up accidentally crossing the Tennessee River. We took a back road to turn around and that is when we discovered we had a perfect view of the stadium from across the river. We pulled into an apartment complex and there was ...

I would upload a really cool picture of me behind it, if it wasn't for Lois taking a blurred photo, where you could only just about make out that there was a waterfall! Anyway we made our way back down the trek, where some exhausted Americans asked us how long left until the waterfall, and when we told them they were a quarter of the ...
... I've been working on them has been the progressive order of a house being built. At our first build site I did foundational work and framing; at the second site I worked on siding; at the third site, priming; and today, finishing touches and sodding. It was a great day, I really enjoyed the work and was able to talk with a bunch of the locals and habitat workers. We worked on that all morning, had a great lunch and by 12:30 we were headed off site. A Bike & Build Alum ...

A few of us played some dodgeball with the local kids, who were adorably intrigued by our weird bike outfits and the fact that we would be sleeping in the very same building they were currently playing in. Their interest kind of made me feel like a low-key celebrity. ;) After showers and a delicious meal provided by The Marysville Habitat, I played some ping pong and tried to watch the Karate Kid before we all sacked out about ten minutes in. Which was fine, because big build day ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Clarion Inn & Suites Gatlinburg
This hotel is a rip off!!!
I made reservations for a penthouse and was quoted a price for 3 nights HOWEVER this was the price for one night! The price was over $600.00 and the room was not even worth $200.00! This hotel is the biggest ripoff in Gatlinburg. Do not stay there!!!!
Nice Hotel, Staff a little rude
This is a nicely maintained hotel, and while not upscale, is certainly clean and confortable. We had a problem with our room and it was handled effecitvely by the maintenance crews. The only complaint I would have is that they need additional customer service training for their morning front desk staff. One lady in particular was downright rude, and this was upon check-in. We considered cancling our reservation and going elsewhere. Nice hotel with some personnel issues.
I love the Smoky's!!! Prices can be high! hotel is clean , safe and nicely decorated. My husband and I visit the Smoky's 3-4 times a year for quick get-away. Since this hotel is farther down the main strip it is quiet. And I like the closer entry to the park. I am pleased with hotel and would stay here again . I have stayed here 3 times in last 2 Look for on line dicounts for this hotel.Mountain Fairy
In my opinion, this is the nicest hotel in Gatlinburg. The rooms were clean, comfortable and with balconies. The staff, including security, were exceptionally nice. Located near stop light 10, it is approximately 1 block to Ober Gatlinburg where you can ski during the winter or play games, ride go-karts, and putt putt year round and 1 block to the entrance of the Smoky Mountains. Restaurants are all around and you can easily walk to where all the action is.
I was very pleased
Their "Platinum" rating is well deserved. I am an extremely picky person and was quite pleased with this hotel. First of all it was very clean, including everything from the sidewalks, parking lot, lobby, hallways, elevators, and of course the room. While in the room, I wore white "footies" and they did not become black from walking on the carpeting. Next, the room was attractively decorated and well furnished. It included a fridge/microwave, iron/board, sofa/extra chair and a balcony. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Lastly the hotel was conveniently located near great restaurants, shopping, a market and the mountains.
Regulars at Clarion
My husband and I visit the Smokies every year, we aways stay at the Clarion, it is a bit pricey, but the nicest hotel in downtown Gatlinburg. Worth the Stay!!!
Very nice hotel. Friendly staff, and great location. You are right in the heart of downtown Gatlinburg. The pool was not very clean though. Everything else was very nice!
Rooms were clean and breakfast was good. I was unhappy with the pool needs to be clean more often by professionals, if you use your goggles to see the bottom of the pool you would understand. Don't want gross anyone. They need better lighting in that pool area. One light does not cut it.
What a GREAT place!
This was a great place to stay!! The staff at the front desk was so pleasant and helpful. They even called the room about 30 mins after we checked in! The room was nice and clean and the baclony was nice. Great location, we walked everywhere!! I will defintely stay here next year!!
A favorite of ours
Wonderful place to stay. Right in downtown Gatlinburg. Leave your car parked at the hotel and walk to everything. Nice clean rooms. Very updated compaired to most of the motels in downtown Gatlinburg. We stay there about 4 times per year. Price is reasonable for the top quality.
