I never thought I'd say this, but the best meal I have had so far on this trip was a bacon and chicken burger from MaxBurger at the Stockholm airport. Don't judge me - it...was...delicious...

We left Amsterdam on a late (cheap!) flight and arrived in Stockholm in the early hours, hungry and hazy, with a couple of hours on a couple of trains to Emelie's town of Gävle ahead of us.

Once we found our bags we walked a loooooong way to find an atm to get some Kronor and ...

... surrounding village looked like it was an affluent area with lots of red painted wooden houses with terraces set around a lovely lake with a fountain. It really was too hot to do anything else so we headed back to the digs and I am currently sat in the garden with a coffee. At 6am in Denmark today it was 17 degrees and we were in full bike gear - it was going to be a hot day. We arrived just in time to get on the ferry with ...

... spot, more like a lay-by, 20 metres from the E4 which is full of traffic. Some picnic spots or motorway service areas charge for an overnight spot often up to 300 SEK and they are not the best! This place is OK, other folk are here but also noisy though free. All the facilities a motorhomers needs are available though. A long day with 12 hours on the road, except for stops of course, but what one would expect when heading up to the edge of the Arctic ...

... So I shall say no more. Fastforward four days or so and I'm in Paris! Fantastic! The morning of the flight I had to wake at 4.30am and get a taxi ( because buses dont run then) to the bus station. But the taxi was playing beautiful meditative music and I think that is what made my day. Because then at the bus station I arrived Half an hour earlier than expected! So I got an earlier bus to the airport. I had booked a considerably cheaper ticket with ...
